Nobel Peace Prize : The official nominations of Greece for the Nobel Peace Prize

Two residents of Lesbos, the 85year old Amalia Cambyses and the 40-year old fisherman Stratis Valamios, along with US actress Susan Sarandon are the official nominations of Greece for the Nobel Peace Prize. 

The three of them representing all the whole people from
Greece and abroad who every day save the lives of refugees in the Aegean. The nominations were announced by the Academy of Athens, the Greek Culture Foundation, the Greek Olympic Committee and the Conference of Rectors of Greek universities and presented today, Monday, at a press conference.


The announcement made by the President of the Academy of Athens Thanassis Valtinos, who stressed that "the proposed represent all the people of the islands and solidarity standing next to refugees, defending the values ​​of peace, freedom and solidarity."
